...or do you have communication failures? For instance:
My dog obeys every word at home, but when we go out, he pays no attention to me; he jumps and barks, and generally embarrasses me!
I dread having visitors because my dog always jumps on them - I tell them she's normally very sweet and quiet, but you can see they find that hard to believe.
I love my dog, but I don't trust him - sometimes he comes when I call him, other times he completely ignores me.
I have a great dog, but she acts crazy whenever she sees another dog!
Having a good relationship with your dog is very important. A well-behaved dog is a pleasure to be around, so you get to do things together. And the more you do things together, the better behaved your dog will be!!!
We specialize in obedience training and behavior problem solving for the family dog - our mission is to make sure you have a dog who listens to you. This is not just a question of teaching commands (although that is important) but also of looking at your dog's lifestyle and place in the household.
The Dog Training Manual
Until now, we have only been able to offer help to people who lived close to one of our locations - McKinney Texas and Vermont. But in working with our private clients, we developed a manual to help them work with their dogs. We have now made changes to this manual so we can make it available to people we cannot work with in person. This manual covers:-
A detailed explanation of the Seven Steps to a Dog Who Listens to You.
An introduction to dog body language.
An explanation of how to communicate effectively with your dog.
Valuable information on how your dog learns, so that you can train your dog in your home.
...and of course, the basics of obedience cues - Sit, Stay, Walk on a Loose Leash, Come when called, Leave It!, and more.
In addition, there are illustrations so that you can see how we train, and detailed steps to help you through the training process for each obedience cue.

What do we do?
Our program, Seven Steps to a Dog Who Listens to You, is available in three different packages to suit your needs and your finances. We believe strongly that the ideal training environment is in your own home. However, we can also accommodate training in group classes or at our facility. See our services in Texas and in Vermont on the appropriate pages. We believe each dog needs slightly different training techniques to succeed, and we will help your dog to have fun while learning.
